St. George, Grenada

We arrived on the island of Grenada and it was a beautiful island. It has black sand beaches and had a lot of cool people. The film/photography woman of the company wanted to interview and be with the Latin market and the Japan market to film them. So we all loaded onto a big taxi and went for a tour to go to all the the different spice plantations. This island was by far the poorest that we saw as we went around the island. So we headed off and got a pretty good tour of the whole island. We went through a forest that was most of the island and we stopped at 2 plantations. The first plantation was in the city and was a nutmeg plantation. We got a tour of the plantation and in a way it was awesome and a way it was sad. They had a lot of workers that do not make very much and they get paid by how many bags they fill. The second plantation was of nutmeg, cocoa, banana, cinnamon and coffee. At this plantation it was not that big but they just told us information about the spices. It was so cool because I was able to see how a real cocoa been looks before and after and the cinnamon and the nutmeg and the nutmeg has an outer wrap that they use for a spice called mace. It was very cool to learn about everything. After that we took a 2 hour drive to a waterfall and we all pretty much got car sick because the roads are like a roller coaster and everyone was packed in like sardines. But the end result was worth it. The water fall was so beautiful and V. and a couple others actually dived in and went swimming. I was so tired it did not really look like fun. there were guys that would jump off the top of the waterfall and if you took a picture they charged you a dollar for taking it. It was a pretty cool business but very sneaky. After that we took another 1 and a half to get back to the ship because we did a pretty big circle and had a good dinner with a cute older couple and then just walked around the ship and enjoyed ourselves.
